The Hawaii Chapter of APWA has been in existence since 1966. It is one of eleven chapters that comprise Region VIII (California, Hawaii, Nevada). The chapter ByLaws can be accessed by members in good standing under the “Members Only” menu.

The Hawaii Chapter is a Member Society of the Hawaii Council of Engineering Societies, an umbrella organization of the major engineering societies in the state.

The American Public Works Association (APWA) is an international educational and professional association of public agencies, private sector companies, and individuals dedicated to providing high quality public works goods and services. APWA also provides a forum in which public works professionals can exchange ideas, improve professional competency, increase the performance of their agencies and companies, and bring important public works-related topics to public attention in local, state and federal arenas.

Originally chartered in 1937, APWA has a diversified membership of 28,500 and is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization.
